We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content. Terms & Conditions
We aim to satisfy all customer bookings within 10 working days of booking online. However if a customer lives in a remote area of England and Wales this may take longer due to resources and engineer availability. We always try to cluster bookings together to keep travel time for engineers to a minimum and therefore this may reflect with longer waiting times.
Please note if you smell gas contact 0800 111 999. We cannot assist you in a gas emergency. If you meter box is however broken and you consider this an urgent matter please call us 0330 190 0197 and we will try and prioritise your request.
We are not responsible for the removal and disposal or your old gas and/or electric meter box. We can however remove your old box however this will incur an additional £29.95.
If our engineer cannot access your property within 30 minutes of the allocated booking time then we reserve the right to void the visit and head on to our next destination. Customers will therefore be refused a refund on fitting and will have to request a new booking slot.
We do not provide estimates prior to booking. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that the correct meter box is ordered.
In order to allocate an engineer all payments for both supply of meter box and fitting must be paid upfront.
Gas Supply
British Meter Boxes are not responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of gas supply to property. We do not interfere with gas work and do not provide gas safety checks. We are solely enaged with providing gas utility meter boxes.
Electric Supply
British Meter Boxes are not responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of electric supply to property. We do not interfere with electric work and do not provide electric safety checks. We are solely enaged with providing gas utility meter boxes.
The customer is responsible for ensuring the correct meter box is ordered. If we arrive at property and the meter box ordered is wrong the customer is responsible for sourcing a proper replacement if our engineer does not have the correct meter box available.
If there is a weather warning in place or bad weather on the date of appointment a new date shall be set at no extra cost and the customer shall be notified via email or telephone.
Refund Policy
We are bound by the sales of goods act 1979. Therefore any goods which we supply which are not of satisfactory standard is eligible for a refund. We do however reserve the right to withold the seperate booking fee for fitting if a cancellation is made withn 48 hours or arrival. Any bookings however cancelled earlier than 48 hours of arrival is eligible for a full refund.
If any work undertake by British Meter Boxes is deemed unsatisfactory then please notify us as soon as possible and we will always aim to rectify any mistake. We cannot however take responsibility for work undertaken by a customer or third party after our fitting, therefore please ensure no products are tampered with after fitting unless there is immediate threat or danger to life.
We also reserve the right to refuse a refund if an engineer has attended the property and cannot get access to the property and/or meter box. If we cannot gain access within the allocated time the engineer will notify head office and the job will be voided and the customer will not be eligible for a refund. Another booking will have to take place and full payment will be requested again.
